Although Einstein’s formula for mass increase is correct, the dogma that there exists no absolute reference frame, on which his relativity theory is based, is wrong. Consequently, since the very basic postulate of relativity does not correspond to reality, relativity theory cannot be understood rationally, and therefore it brought about a century of confusion and wasted effort.

In contrast to this, the assumption that aether represents the absolute frame of reference, causes no conceptual problems, while easily accounting for the increase of mass, and related phenomena associated with the observed matter, considered to be vortex assemblies in the aether.

With the circulation in the aether is associ-ated an angular momentum, represented by an axial vector, while the translational momentum mv, is represented by a polar vector. These momenta are separately conserved, and while the translational momentum changes with the motion of the vortex, the angular momentum remains constant, which accounts for the constancy of charge and spin. Although the angular and linear momenta cannot be added, the total flow within the vortex can be expressed as the sum of the squares of the magnitudes of the respective flows. Thus, we get

A single vortex, as well as any assem-bly of vortices, represents a closed circulation in the aether fluid. If the center of such circulation does not move, then the speed of the circulation is the speed of light, becuse the rms speed of the gyrons in the vacuum is this speed, corresponding to the relaxa-tion speed of the aether. However, if the vortex assembly moves, then the circulation configuration has to change to allow for the forward, and retrograde changes in the circulation speed as shown in the plot below. However, the actual resulting circulation speed must return to the relaxation speed of the aether. Thus, the translational speed of the vortex is accommodated by shrin-king the size of the vortex in the direction of propagation, which is called the Lorentz-Fitzgerald contraction.

Therefore, mass is not a physical entity, it is merely a parameter associated with the frequency of the wave in the vortex circulation.

Experimental data show that momentum is related to the wavelength associated with the electron vortex, so that the above relation-ship is equivalently expressed as

with B designating the DeBroglie wave.
